Welcome to the KG 3D Game Engine Website

KG is an open source 3d game engine intended to be powerful and flexible and still have an easy to use API.
The engine is in development.
This website is under construction.

Important!

It is very important to know this project is in a very early stage of development.
It is first of all an experiment project concentrated on the interface.
It is intended to be as easy and intuitive as possible: have a simple and smart API.
Second of all this project will have the functionality of a 3d game engine.

What is KG 3D Game Engine?

KG is an open source 3d game engine intended to be powerful and flexible and still have an easy to use API.
The Engine is scene-oriented, flexible and designed to be easy and intuitive for developers.
It is plugin based, manager based and has a core containing useful classes like containers as those in STL: vector3d, and other.

Is KG a Game Engine?

Yes. KG is a 3d game engine. It is inspired from OGRE's power and Irrlicht's easy API.
Yet in development, it's design is to become a complete Game Engine and mostly a Game Engine API.
Though this might be an utopian idea, this is what I propose with it.

Is it really free?

The KG's source is under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL), which basically means you can use it however you like
as long as you release the source for changes you make to the core engine if you distribute your product.
The source to your application or to new plugins you create does not have to be released.
See the licensing page for full licensing terms.
